Shine: lighting solution for older adults

Shine is an experimental lighting solution designed with older adults in mind, where form, color, and functionality come together to support both body and mind. Inspired by florals and the expressive potential of bright hues, this lighting collection transforms colored light into a gentle, abstract experience.

Color is not just decorative, it’s therapeutic. Yellow tones stimulate the nervous system and promote creativity and energy without overwhelming the senses. Green light offers pain relief and mental calm. Blue enhances daytime alertness and cognitive clarity. Purple encourages meditation and restful sleep, while red supports morning energy and natural physical activation.

This is a prototype made for a lighting design studio. Handmade using plastic bottles, clay, and color treatment to mimic a ceramic stand. Accompanied by heat treated acrylic 

lamp shades.
